Leadership
I aim to be a versatile higher education manager, proficient in fostering robust research environments and spearheading innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Central to my leadership philosophy is the cultivation of a supportive culture, evident in my emphasis on healthy hiring practices and the establishment of a strong mentoring framework. Notably, I’ve achieved a 100% success rate in guiding my colleagues through promotions across three distinct institutions. Moreover, I’ve actively advocated for gender balance and equitable progression to senior roles.
My leadership expertise extends to complex operational management, such as estate management. For instance, while serving on the campus development committee in Hong Kong, I was part of the relocation of the entire Faculty of Arts into a new tower. Similarly, at the University of Sydney, I managed the relocation of the Sydney College of the Arts to a new campus, which involved the development of purpose-built facilities and financial oversight of the entire AUD 20 million project.
I value sincere and proper relations and encourage and welcome critical thinking. You can read what my colleagues think of me under Testimonials.
