Teaching

I take an innovative approach to teaching that always puts the student at the centre. I have been involved in curriculum design for the past twenty five years at the National University of Singapore, the University of Amsterdam, and The University of Hong Kong, among others.

Academic Lead of Humanities Common Core Curriculum (HKU): mentored over 100 interdisciplinary courses tailored for the entire university. Developed and taught two courses: “Cultures of War” and “Life and Death of Languages”.

Led transition from in-person to online teaching of Languages, Arts, and Media (Sydney) during the pandemic.

Supported development of Environmental humanities and Global studies degrees (Perth).
