Why October 7 May Mark a Turning Point for Universities

Our world is upside down. We are shocked by the wars in Israel and Ukraine, worry about the risks of artificial intelligence, see a radicalization of politics, wonder about billion-dollar bankruptcies. But there is also beauty: art, music, solidarity, joie de vivre. Which people have inspired, motivated, delighted and excited us the most in these challenging times? OOOM Magazine presents its eighth annual “OOOM 100: The World’s Most Inspiring People” list. The OOOM editorial team and a renowned international jury—including Obama advisor Nipun Mehta, Elisabeth Sereda from the Board of Directors of the Golden Globes, designer Stefan Sagmeister, London’s Serpentine Galleries director Hans Ulrich Obrist, impact investor Charly Kleissner, NEOS founder Matthias Strolz and art gallery owner Thaddaeus Ropac, among others—contributed to the ranking. Every ranking is subjective. But it shows which people have made a lasting impression on us.
